Policies & Procedures

Refund Policy:

Registration fees are nonrefundable.

There are no tuition refunds after the first class.

Credit towards future classes may be issued in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the director.

Class Cancellations:

In the event of class cancellations, you will be notified by phone and/or e-mail.   Classes canceled by the instructor will be made up at the end of the session.  If the Cranston public schools are closed because of snow, Lori's Music Together® will also be closed.  Please check the website if you are not sure whether there is class or not.

Missed Classes:

Each family is entitled to 2 makeups per session for missed classes.  For those of you who are unable to attend another class to do a makeup, a week of makeup classes will be added at the end of the semester, and you can choose to attend any of these.

Illness:

We ask that you use common sense when it comes to illness and keeping others healthy. Please do not bring your child to class if he/she has had a fever, has been vomiting within the last 24 hours, or has diarrhea.  If you think your child might be catching a cold (or if he/she is recovering from a cold), please place all his/her instruments in the "Taster's Choice" bin after use so that they can be cleaned before the next class.

Talking/Texting/Phone Calls:

In an effort to keep the class as musical as possible, and to help your child and others get as much out of the experience as possible, we ask that you PLEASE SAVE CHATTING, TEXTING, and PHONE CALLS for after class.  Although we want you to have fun and enjoy yourself, it can be a real challenge for the teacher, and unfair to other families, when parents treat the class as a play group rather than a music class.

Photos/Video:

It is fine if you take a few photos or a short video of your child making music.  However, since your participation is essential, we ask that you not spend the majority of class taking pictures.  Also, please do not photograph/film other children without their families' permission.

Safety:

Safety is a priority. We make every effort to ensure that the classroom is childproofed. Please keep an eye on your child, and help him/her and other children nearby to be safe. We ask that there be no running during class unless the entire class is running as part of an activity.  Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

Eating/Drinking:

Mothers are welcome to nurse their babies and parents/caregivers can offer babies a bottle at any time.  Other than this, however, we ask that there be no eating or drinking in the classroom.  Thank you.

Guests:

Older siblings are welcome to join us on the occasional class day when they may happen to be out of school.  Please let Lori know ahead of time so she can plan for extra children.  If a sibling attends class more than a couple of times, however, he/she needs to be enrolled in the class.  Adult visitors/relatives are welcome anytime.

Toys from Home:

Please leave toys at home, or stash them in your car or stroller during class, since they can be very distracting to the other children in the class.  Thank you.
